Having sailed on Viking, Holland America, Oceania, Celebrity, Windstar this was the ideal opportunity to test drive Silversea on a short cruise between Singapore & Bali.
Embarkation was very slow as two ships leaving the same evening & queues for immigration were very long
Superior Veranda was a great size & you could easily enjoy this size of cabin for a cruise of 2-3 weeks. Butler introduce himself - but we didnt really use his services - felt a little gimmicky, but i guess some people like the ideal of 'staff' always on call.
Decor was a little too bland - throughout the entire ship - beige & green - felt that due to the subdued nature of the guests some colour may have lightened up the atmosphere.
Crowd generally 70+ - as ship was heading to Australia, equal balance of Australians & Americans.
Food was good but not great - 2 good meals & surprisingly the Asian restaurant delivered a superb meal.
Gym great size with all the facilities you could require
Spa - i had one of the best massages on a ship ever....Ana the therapist fix the knots in my back.
Small design fault: in how weather its nice to have a through breeze on the pool deck but none of the windows opened & it got very hot to eat a meal outside
Didnt get off the ship in Smerang as didnt want a 11hr round trip journey to the temples. was a lovely quite day on board.
Would i sail again - maybe if the itinerary and price were right but i wouldnt go out of my way. Would certainly try an expedition cruise as they have some amazing itineraries.
large, well appointed rooms, always clean, tons of storage, serviced well each day, bed was a little too soft, mini bar always topped up, internet was very fast, shower very small, dont see the need for a bath, terrible bulgari products in bathroom that are over perfumed, (they should partner with a better brand)
like having a foot stool on the balcony
