This was our 29th cruise (5th on Carnival) and since we live close to Baltimore we take a Carnival cruise every couple of years. We were cut short a day due to a storm prohibiting the previous cruise from returning to port. Upgraded to Vista Suite for the first time mainly for the wrap around balcony and the separate bedroom. While it had a nice bathroom with double vanities and a huge tub with shower, the rest of the suite needed refurbishment. Also found hairs in the tub, which was not a good thing! Tops of vanities in suite were dusty -- the first time I've encountered dusty on any cruise. Also had to ask for a robe when you would think that would be a suite amenity. There was lots of storage spread throughout the two rooms.
The layout was not comfortable, with only one chair in the "living room" with a fairly comfortable sofa. The TV was set so high that you almost had to lie down to see if without killing your neck. The bedroom had what I think was a queen bed which did not stay joined together, leaving gap in the middle. The first night, the very bright recessed lights would not shut off at all. There were more light switches than there are lights in the suite and we tried everything to turn them off. I called Maintenance, Guest Services and Housekeeping and no one answered ( it was 11pm, but it's supposed to be 24 hour service). Needless to say we didn't sleep well with the bright lights. An electrician came the next morning and took several hours to fix a faulty switch.
Water glasses and wine glasses were not replaced after use and I had to ask for them. The balcony was dirty and lots of rust evident. While there was a hugh about of seating on the deck, but the chairs and lounges were filthy and didn't appear to have been wiped off at all. There was only one very small table for the entire deck precluding any kind of meal out there.
See above in review -- not impressed.
