We are long term NCL fans - Platinum Plus. NCL Joy is a wonderful ship! Food was very good and the crew was amazing, but a bit overworked! I did notice the specialty restaurants are bigger which is good - but the staffing is a bit slimmer so service has slipped a bit. Our cabin was nice but lacks propper storage - ZERO drawers in the set up (who designs these things???) - but we did find that if you empty the soft drawers - they can be used. This was a Panama Canal Cruise of 16 days so perhaps 70% of the passengers are over 50 - but the ship ignores the older guests!! We are dancers and like nice romantic couple dancing after dinner and into the evening! Not on NCL Joy (and most NCL ships) - it is more like Carnival for the Cruise Director and his staff. The H2O is treated more like a teen club - I requested some slow dances and the DJ asked - what are those - slow never happened - if you don't line dance or hip hop - don't go!! I watch many couples come out, sit for a while and leave without a chance to dance. Note that the ship did have 1 hour of Ballroom dance every other day in the late afternoon. I also need to point out that the ships phone-based wake up system only works half the time so don't count on that wakeup call.
