From the moment we arrived at San Juan airport- to be greeted with a champagne reception- the cruise, crew, rooms, facilities, excursions and food were fantastic. This was our first ever cruise, and now we are hooked. Loved the attention to detail with the rooms and lounges on the ship. The crew were so attentive- nothing was too much trouble. Loved the low key entertainment- pianists, violinists, guitarist in the lounge areas. The food in all the restaurants was amazing- but we especially loved the Chef’s Table for challenging our taste buds and ideas about food. We did all of the included excursions- which are designed to give you a taster of what the island has to offer. All were great- with good to excellent tour guides. We paid for the St Kitts railway experience- which was worth the money- and we all had a great time.

Overall the cruise exceeded our expectations. We never felt crowded on the ship. There were always quiet lounge areas if you wanted peace and quiet. The spa is brilliant- loved the snow room and jacuzzi hot tubs.

The only negative was the post-cruise stay at the Caribe Hilton. We were taken to the hotel at 8:30am and not given a room until 4pm. With no secure place to store handluggage we had no option but to sit in the hotel lobby for 8 hours. Once we were allocated our room it was dirty with a broken safe. Housekeeping and security were sent to resolve the problem- but I would not recommend the Hilton- and felt it didn’t mirror the values and quality of Viking. It made a disappointing end to a fantastic cruise.
