We had not cruised for 15 years. The Panama Canal was always on our bucket list and, we booked this cruise rather hastily as the time and price were right. We had never cruised on NCL before and loved the amenities on the ship, the freestyle dining and how hard the crew worked to keep the ship clean and us healthy. The food was excellent in both the complimentary dining and specialty restaurants. Entertainment (bands and shows) were superb. I commented to my husband and friend of 40-years that this was like a "Spring Break Cruise for Baby Boomers." Loved every minute of it and am thinking about the Mediterranean cruise in November 2020. Overall, the on-the ship experience was perfect. The transfer from LAX was not -- it took us 4 hours from the time our flight landed until we got on the ship. NCL agreed that they had communication issues between themselves and the transfer agent. They made a note to refund our $35 transfer fee on the last day of the cruise, but did not. Overall, this was just a speed bump. We were otherwise extremely pleased with the NCL experience.
Stateroom would have been fine with 3 women. As we traveled as a couple and a third female friend, my husband was not pleased on the layout as he felt it was not easy to get to the balcony as our friend was using the pull out sofa for her bed.
