We have been reading reviews on the Escape, at first most of them seemed to be negative but more recently they have been more positive. So before she left for Miami we thought why not give her a try. I should also add that there have been several threads in CC about possible changes to the Escape after her first dry dock, we wanted to see the original version.

About us, we sail exclusively with NCL. Why? Well here in the NYC area, NCL provides diverse itineraries not only in ships but destinations. We are both platinum-plus with NCL. Also equally important, NCL hasn't given us a reason to try another cruise line.

Embarkation and disembarkation at the Manhattan terminal were almost perfect for us. Literally no issues, I have seen utter chaos in the terminal with smaller ships, not this time.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom with Large Picture Window

The cabin was listed as an OA, but on deck #9 the only thing we could see was the bow of the ship and the crew standing on the deck taking pictures. The outside was on an angle, floor to ceiling and left to right, that wall had a bench across it and cabinets for additional storage. It was the smallest OA that we ever stayed in. Everything worked, bathroom seemed smaller.
