We chose this 15-night Cruise because of the excellent itinerary and the convenience of leaving out of New York City for us. We have been on NCL many times, but not in a few years. We booked this trip about 100 days before departure, and we felt that the price was fair for three of us in an inside cabin. We paid in full at the time, and within two weeks the price dropped $200. Soon after the price dropped again. We contacted NCL, and they were willing to upgrade us to an outside cabin. The Price kept going down till it hit $399 plus the port charges. We were shocked, as we had never seen the price of a cruise drop like that. The ship is older but in very good condition. Our cabin steward was excellent, and the entertainment was outstanding. The food in the dining rooms was mostly served warm. Same in the buffet. The quality of the food was definitely not as good as it has been in the past. Believe me, we did not starve, and we found things that we did enjoy like the homemade crepes at the buffet in the evening. Nury in the Venetian restaurant was the best waitress that we found, and she served the food nice and hot. At her table was the only place we could find hot food and excellent service. Other nights we were in the restaurant for almost three hours!! We enjoyed all of the ports, until we had to tender in for a Panama excursion that we booked through the ship. It seemed that the staff had a lot of trouble with communicating. Many people waited in the theater for many hours for the tours to depart. We booked two tours through NCL which were not worth the money. We also booked two tours with Viator, which were both excellent. Of course on a 15 night cruise, the average age was mostly over 75. Many people with wheelchairs, scooters, and canes that could not easily get around. God bless them. We did have perfect weather and calm seas for the entire trip which made it worthwhile. The last two years we took Royal Caribbean for Mediterranean Cruises, and we found the food much better.
