We wanted to see New Orleans and thought this would give us the opportunity to spend time in the city before sailing. Nola was a great experience. Bourbon Orlean Hotel is special. Lots of restaurants and jazz clubs on Frenchman's street.
On the ship highlights.
Specialty restaurants were good, Cagney's and French Bistro the best. Main ones were hit and miss especially the fish entrees very poor, but staff gave good service.
Very slow on boarding and hours in a cab to get off at the port due to poor traffic control. Would not sail from this port again because of that. Numbers of people seem to overwhelm the port and huge delay getting previous cruisers off .
Entertainment was the best we have had. Million Dollar Quartet was the best show ever.
Really good other entertainment venues with several choices each evening. Be sure and book entertainment before cruising.
Pool area taken up by the usual chair hogs. Enough chairs up one level to get some sun.
Quiet area on port side of deck 8 to read and watch the sunset with best bar the Sunset bar right there.
Enjoyed an aft cabin and the trip down the Mississippi was interesting. It took an evening and night to sail out in the gulf. Be prepared first full day sailing will be an inside day to explore the ship
Did the Monkey River Tour on the NCL tour list. Flies and mosquitos were nasty. Believe them about long pants, sleeves and bug repellant are needed.
Hoping the mosquito bites don't lead to Malaria and Dengue but the potential is there. Perhaps avoid this tour during the rainy season.
Excellent off ship tour of Rose Hall by Viatours. Jamaica has learned what tourists want in an authentic experience without the hassles.
Harvest Caye in Belize a very nice private island experience.
Skipped getting off is Honduras and we were very glad as those trying to board tenders to return waited 5 hours in the heat. Skip this port and enjoy the ship.
NCL remove this port, not worth it until there is more stability. Captain's apology the next day said it all.
Overall very good cruise, 9 days is just the right amount of time. Perfect for those wanting lots of choice on dining and entertainment.
Cabin was spacious with lots of storage.Cabin steward was the best we have ever had.
Excellent tour of Rose Hal and so much rich history of JamaicaView All undefined undefined Reviews
take the city bus to 7 mile beach, you don't need a tour
Avid this port and the hassles of tender delays
Very nice private beach feel.
Didn't bother as we have been there before unless you take a tour to the ruins it is basically a shopping stop.
