This was our first time on this large of a ship. We will not cruise again on a large ship due to the long wait times. Trying to obtain a cocktail generally required a long wait and not enough seating to facilitate the large number of people on the ship. The staff worked extremely hard to serve everyone as quickly as possible but the ship was not designed to accommodate that scenario.
Itinerary
It was frustrating that Norwegian decided to change the itinerary prior to sailing. We had spent quit some time booking several private excursions that had to be cancelled and redone due to the change. Norwegian did not offer an explanation or apology for this complete itinerary change.
Cabin Review
Family Mini-Suite with Balcony
There was plenty of storage and the large bathroom was a plus. The mattress was hard, lumpy and needed replaced. The walls were thin and we could hear people in the cabins next to ours talking and even snoring during the night.
Port Reviews
Roatan
Signed up for a snorkeling tour but due to weather was cancelled. We were not notified and spent 4 hours tendering, taxi ride to excursion site (45 min.) , back to boat (45 min.) with another hour wait to get on the tender back to the boat. Complete disaster.
Harvest Caye
Very clean, well maintained landscape, and lots of things to do (swimming, zip line, etc.). We just walked around and enjoyed the Caye but others appeared to be having a good time.
Costa Maya
We did some shopping, but it was extremely busy and decided not to stay too long.
