Embarkation was easy with minimal issues. We were able to drop our carry on in the closet while rooms were prepared, and we went to explore the ship. Within a few hours the popular specialty dining restaurants were booked. We should have used the kiosks in the stairwells to book as soon as we boarded. The specialty restaurants had good food and superb service. If you like dining al fresco ask for a table on the Waterfront. We had a tasty and filling breakfast in the main dining room every day. Do not be shy in the main dining room. Ask for a pot of coffee or the pastry basket for the table. The servers are always happy to serve you. Lunch at the buffet was ... lunch at a buffet. Nothing to write home about, but you won't go hungry. The main dining room has a decent lunch. Lunch at O'Sheehan's was my favorite. But who sails Norwegian for the lunch? Dinner in the main dining rooms was better than the lunch. The Manhattan Room has entertainment to go with your dinner. Avoid it if you are looking to converse with your friends at the table. If you like ballroom dancing be sure to see the high energy dance floor show. The entertainment was shipboard entertainment. It can vary from very good to mediocre. The show "Six" was touted as the latest Broadway bound hot show from London. It was a fantasy contest between the wives of Henry VIII over who had the worst marriage. Vegas style pop music with flashy costumes. I feel sorry for anyone who invested in this turkey. If you don't believe me see https://www.sixthemusical.com/ Excursions were good and we had a great time on each one. Favorites were swimming with the dolphins, the glass bottomed hydrofoil and the Chacchoben ruins. Now for the downsides. The ship is crowded. The passageways to the cabins are narrow and we found ourselves waiting in cabin entrances to make room for other people in the passage. Elevators could be crowded during rush hours. Sometimes certain floors were locked out. The first time we didn't know what was happening because the lock out message is brief and not displayed at the level of the button. If you are looking at the button you will not see the message. If you are looking up when someone else pushes the button you will. There was always something happening in the Atrium and the pool. This makes the central areas noisy. If you are looking for a quiet spot try the Waterfront areas on deck 8. The ship is mostly non-smoking except for the cigar bar, an area near the pool and the casino. But the casino is on deck 7 and the smell spreads through the Atrium to the common areas on decks 6, 7, and 8. Walking to the dining areas on any deck meant smelling smoke just before eating. For a non-smoker this was unpleasant. We would walk the long way through the cabin passageways to avoid the smell. Debarking took about 2 hours. Immigration was handled on the ship through 3 lanes on Deck 7. This meant the lines backed up through the ship. Everyone had to wait in line. And the line went through the casino area. The stink from last night's cigarettes was terrible. I tried and failed to hold my breath for 20 minutes. Getting through immigration did not get us off the ship. The line snaked outside toward the gangway. November in Miami, so this should not be a hardship. Wrong. A cold front had moved in. Wish I had checked the weather report. At least I could breath fresh air. One plus was it was not raining. We could have been soaked if it was raining and windy. The gangway to the dock narrowed to single file at one point, which explained why the line moved so slowly. The luggage area was a madhouse. Definitely get a porter to help you here. One of our suitcases was trapped. The porter went behind the wall to find it.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony
Cabin MB
The cabin was spacious with a queen bed and couch. Both were comfortable, though we didn't spend much time on the couch. The cabin steward was attentive and provided excellent service. A few notes on the cabin:

- The Waterfront outdoor bar and dining area was underneath our balcony. This was not a problem for us even though we could hear the other guests below.
- The climate control uses a series of lights. You do not set a temperature as a number. It took a little experimentation to find the right temperature for us.
- Water temperature can be very hot. Be careful when using the sink or shower.
- The shower controls were not intuitive. The bottom handle controls where the water comes out. Handle down is for the hand held rain showerhead. Pull the bottom handle up for water.
- If water is rough push the loose hangers in the closet to one side. Otherwise you will hear a monster bumping in the closet.
