This was our 6th Carnival and was one of the best. The Magic is not a new ship but in good shape. If you look hard enough I’m sure you will find a rust spot or two but we were not there to inspect every detail we were there to enjoy a cruise and that we did.

Our cabin was a balcony on deck 7 and was very nice. Clean comfortable bed and enough room to store all our clothes. Bathroom was tight with small shower but clean.

We were in the Southern Lights Dining room and every evening the food was very good. The steaks and prime rib seasoned perfectly although if you ordered medium it was well done and some at our table sent the steak back and was brought one a little less done. The wait staff were adequate but not as friendly as on some other carnival cruises which was a bit disappointing. On sea day brunch the wait staff was borderline rude maybe because they were overworked but some mornings getting a cup of coffee was a project.
