MSC Preziosa Cruise Review by blanka_elekes
- Sail Date: October 2019
- Destination: Western Mediterranean
- Cabin Type: Fantastica Balcony Stateroom
We boarded the ship in Genova, a quick and effective process which was started even earlier than announced. The rooms were also ready early and our cruise cards perfectly prepared in the cabins.
The Preziosa is a big ship but well designed and the signage is well done so it's fairly easy to get around.
Food is absolutely plentiful on the cruise, it is quite impossible to stay hungry. Meals are offered pretty much all day, 20 hours a day. The sit-down meals may offer only three courses, as some people complained, but if one wishes, you can order several starters, main dishes or desserts, so basically you are almost having a buffet type of meal, only it is served to the table. The waiting staff has been a particular delight on the cruise, both at our designated table and in the bars we visited during the cruise.
The gym is well equipped in the front of the ship and although you are asked to spend no more than twenty minutes on a machine, the wait is never too long. The pools and jacuzzis can be busy on beautiful, sunny sea days but there is many of them so no long waits there either.
The evening entertainment is varied and especially the gala night performances are quite spectacular.
We were a group of adults but children onboard seemed to be enjoying all the animation and entertainment on offer, they were even made part of one of the evening shows in the theater.
Yes, the shore excursions and port transfers are quite pricey and we didn't take any of those but that's true of every cruise and every cruise line.
The disembarkation was well explained both personally if someone attended the information session but also in the daily programme. The process itself flowed really smoothly. The billing was also transparent and without any issues.
All in all, we had a wonderful cruise with MSC Preziosa and would recommend the ship wholeheartedly. Our cruise took us from Genova to Malaga, Casablanca, Lisbon, Barcelona and Marseille and back to Genova with three in-between days on the sea.
