I chose this cruise as it left from my home port and the Pacific Islands were somewhere I really wanted to go and experience.
I was given an upgrade to a mini-suite cabin on the Dolphin Deck, Deck 9, located midship forward on the port side of the ship. It was comfortable and spacious and the bed was very comfortable as well.
I had chosen anytime dining but didn't go into the Main Dining Room, so just ate in the Horizon Court buffet, the International Cafe, Prego's Pizzeria and the Trident Grill instead. The food was good and there was a great selection of food which changed daily.
Spacious and comfortable cabin. Shower combined with the bath. Comfortable bed.
Home port but I can recommend day trips to Glenelg for the beach, shopping and food. The Central Market in the city. Wine tours in Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills. The Giant Rocking Horse in Gumeracha.
Lots to see and do here. Melbourne Aquarium, Queen Victoria Markets, looking around in the city, shopping at Bourke Street Mall or any of the Direct Factory Outlets in the city.
There were market stalls set up next to the ship.
Take extra money as Fiji can be expensive to visit. Go to a store called Tappoo for some great souvenirs in the city. On Sunday's, the stores are closed though.
Take wet weather clothes as it rained heavily the day we were here in port and some of the shore excursions were cancelled due to the dangerous conditions caused by heavy rain on the dirt paths.
This is a working terminal, no pedestrian traffic allowed but shuttle buses are available for passengers to take into the city. Go to the passenger terminal in town and take the hop on hop off bus for $10 Australian. Has 7 stops and one of the stops is a beach.
