Norwegian Spirit Cruise Review by Denaliman
- Sail Date: October 2019
- Destination: Mediterranean
- Cabin Type: Mid-Ship Balcony
Cabin was okay. Nothing special. Somewhat cramped, but generally typical for standard balcony cabin on Norwegian. We have been on this ship before, and have done several Norwegian cruises. We are Platinum level.
Overall, we feel that quality of Norwegian is dropping. (Maybe we are getting too critical).
Food in the standard main dining rooms is dropping in selection and in quality. Maybe it is an attempt to get people to eat at the premium (extra cost) restaurants. When we started with Norwegian, there was far more selection, and better quality food.
Cabin service was mediocre. Maybe cutbacks in staffing are to blame. Not sure.
For entertainment / shows we have mixed reviews. There were 3 classical type singers from UK (Tre Amici) who were very good. The Norwegian singers put on a decent show (seen it before) but it is way too loud for our ears. Does not need to be ear piercing. We did not see other acts, as they did not appeal to us, so can't review them.
Did some excursions. Mixed reviews on those. Tours where the guide used microphone & headsets were much better to hear and understand the guides.
Will look at other cruise lines for our next cruise. Depends on itinerary.
