Island Princess Cruise Review by MimiDe
- Sail Date: November 2019
- Destination: Panama Canal & Central America
- Cabin Type: Mini-Suite with Balcony
We booked a mini-suite for the first time, and we really enjoyed having the extra space. We had four sea days, so we were in the room more often than on other cruises.
We had Club Dining on this cruise, and were very pleased with the service. It was nice to have the same efficient waiters for each meal, and to have our "own" table. The waiters were very attentive and aware of our preferences, as well as being welcoming and friendly.
The food was not superior, but it was good. We felt that there was a fairly limited menu from which to choose, but most of the meals we picked were good. The desserts were excellent.
We ate in Sabatini's one evening., and were not particularly impressed with either the food or the service. It seemed no better than Club Dining to us.
The shows we attended were enjoyable, but not spectacular. We had to be sure to arrive early for performances in order to find desirable seating.
The choices of shore excursions was very good. We were on a limited budget, so could not choose some of the more exciting or adventurous ones because of price. We were pleased with all of them except one: Discover Jamaica seemed more of a long bus ride than anything else. We visited a park and some small falls, and had a shopping opportunity, but we did not feel that the ride was worth what we saw.
The ship is rather small, and not a new one, but it has been tastefully updated.
The entertainment provided was enjoyable - good musicians playing frequently. and several game activities offered if you are interested in that.

Cartagena (Colombia)We visited the church of San Pedro Claver. We Had a photo opportunity of the Fort of San Felipe. We saw the old city walls and the beautiful side alleys with the colorful buildings. We were treated to a performance of music and dancing in beautiful folkloric costumes.View All 13,326 Cartagena (Colombia) Cruise Port Reviews

Rainforest Aerial Tram TourIt was pouring rain most of the time, but we still enjoyed riding through the rain forest. The view from the tower at the end of the trail was beautiful!View All 11 Rainforest Aerial Tram Tour Reviews
FalmouthA long bus ride to not much to see. A nice tour guide, but not a tour I would want to take again. It was more bus ride than anything to do.View All 13,326 Falmouth Cruise Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)Enjoyable tour with excellent narration by guide. Visited the little town of Hell, with photo ops, the Rum Cake Center with tastes of Samples, and a nice gift shop. Enjoyed seeing the Blow Holes, and the site of the Wreck of the Ten Sails. An hours stop at the beach to have lunch and jump in the water if we chose. A good tour!View All 13,326 Grand Cayman (Georgetown) Cruise Port Reviews
