Golden Princess Cruise Review by csabfey
- Sail Date: November 2019
- Destination: Australia & New Zealand
- Cabin Type: Mini-Suite with Balcony
Ease of boarding and disembarkation were a strong point.
The ship offers lots of varied activities and some top class entertainment.
Sevice standards in the various dining rooms were excellent and the quality of foods and menues in the speciality restaurants were first class.
We enjoyed the disco scene in the "spoiler looking structure" at the back of the ship...always good for a workout. The gym too was a pleasant suprise, with lots of machines to work out with.
Entertainment was very good, with singers, dancers and musicians all performing to high expectations. The mimicking of the TV VOICE programme carried through very effectively and perhaps not suprisingly, out of the many passengers on board, there were some very good singers indeed. Also needs to be mentioned that the "head Judge" made much fun with his commentary!
Another highlight was a solo violonist, who picked up his trade at the age of 4 and his mastery of the violin was just superb. Its a credit to the band that they were able to keep up with him!.
Our cabin, on the Dolphin deck was first class and being centrally positioned along the length of the ship, was very steady during our cruise...so no suggestion of sea sickness. Engine vibrations could not be felt, except very lightly on the floor of the bath room.
If there was a downside to our cruise, it was the fact that we were not able to specify exactly the cabin we were seeking, despite making our booking months before our cruise. We actually had to book a higher grade accomodation in order for us to get a cabin on our disired part of the ship!! (I would suggest to Princess Cruises that they should desist from this unwelcome policy!)
Overall a great cruise experience!
