Cruise took us from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman.
We are not early embarkers and avoid a lot of hassles. Quick through check-in and on the ship within 15 minutes. Dropped off our bags in our room and headed for the dreaded lunch in the Oceanview. Not disappointed, overcrowded and limited choices. The muster drill, though not the terrible video, was over quickly. Very easy to space out and not retain anything from it.
We chose the non-fixed dining plan which worked out very well for us. Had dinner in the MDR with a friendly wait staff (Gilberto, Mario, Lundi, and Jade) who made dinner something to look forward to each of the six nights we ate there. The other night we went to the Oceanview and it was ... b o r i n g ... and regretted it. Just not much variety in the foods. Quality is fine, but not exciting.
If you can deal with being in the very back of the ship - last room before aft-facing cabins - this room was really good. Huge balcony, quiet. Room attended kept things tidy. A longer walk to the stairs since there are only the two banks of elevators but worth it.
It's complicated getting through the shopping area at the dock, it's laid out to keep you from escaping. We found the cabs outside the security area after about ten minutes.
