We set sail on this ship after it was refurbished, and it was great. The room was really nice (balcony) and is perfect for two guests. Our cabin steward was very good and our room kept tidy at all times. Service onboard was outstanding everywhere and it was fantastic in restaurants. The waitstaff was very personable and always ensured you were enjoying yourself. We had an opportunity to try a few of the premium restaurants and they, too, were outstanding. We would highly recommend the Ocean Blue, Le Bistro and the Italian Bistro. It's totally worth it to upgrade and get the dining package and for that matter, the beverage package. We also really enjoyed lunch at The District (Greek salad, hot wings, and Moscow Mules) were faves on the menu. Sit along the railings instead of inside the restaurant and watch the movie below in the open deck below. Also, another experience we loved was sitting in the back adult-only jacuzzi all day and watching the scenery.

Overall a great experience and we would recommend this shop and the Alaska itinerary to anyone however there are some areas of improvement that we think NCL could work on. The Footloose show was boring and there were a few scenes that were inappropriate and really not needed for general entertainment. The pools were the biggest disappointment. The main pool was very small and lacked any excitement and had way too much chlorine. My teen son was escorted back to his room because he could not see for some time. The water slides were always closed in this area as well and there were no jacuzzis near the main pool. Adults were able to use the back adult only area where there is a large jacuzzi, but it was only lukewarm and the jets were broken (they didn't refurbish this area.) There was so much chlorine in this jacuzzi that it ruined two new bathing suits. Bummer.

Our teen had such a great time in the kid's room and made a dozen new friends. There was always something to do for kids. We upgraded and added an unlimited entertainment package for him which included the race car driving, 3D and 4D video games and more, and it was great for the first day but he ended up having more fun in the teen room with other kids. In any case, great program for kids overall.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Balcony room is great for two people. With a teen in the room also, we should have upgraded to a larger room.
