We cruise majority p@o from sydney-couple mid 50s in age Stepping onboard the ruby was like entering a hilton hotel in comparision to a glorified rsl club in australia that is p@o onboard at 12 noon ,,then lunch, room avaliable at 1 p.m.smoothest start ever for me ruby is a real gem,so many spaces to explore,the different themed rooms have plenty of seating,and nice touchs of woodwork,big comfy chairs to relax into pools are heated,spas are not full of kids teens are non existent.aahhhh the bliss of no rug rats holding up the elevators movies under the stars,wow brillant.comfy deck chairs,blankets.superb experience full promenade deck walk around,plus top decks, we mainly used stairs,but plenty of elevators if that is what you want my fav. area is the international coffee shop on deck 5,people sit around and pass the time,plenty of stewards to take your tea,coffee orders, cakes,light meals is served next to the cafe too,salads ect perfect in the mornings i would order a cappachino and have a almond crossoint,and a donut to take back to cabin,indulgent bliss,and the best baristas serving coffees,teas i have had in years,get a coffee card 1st day,you wont regret it But the coffee in the horizon court...please dont ask its ...hmmm.not to my taste !! i was club class mini suite,greeted on arrival in dining room and show to a table i liked by the maitre d same waiting staff to serve us,a inexspensive but worth while upgrade. mini suite mid ship -new flat screen t.v x 2.full bathtub,plenty of room,worth every cent steward as usual exellent.thank fully NO towel animals,what a waste to wash them... fridge cold,bed luxuary ,sheets soft ,whats not to like !! only way to travel.. we went to a few shows,get in early,they fill up for 7 .30 p.m slots,if we did,nt like it ,we left,simple,plenty of other places to visit,walk the decks,watch the sunset from balcony yes theres no loud music,the patter said music by the pool 1 arvo,it sent me to sleep!! obviously you dont go princess to party hard,which is fine .i dont drink booze on cruises.if i want a drink i do it at home,the prices are printed clearly,if your happy to pay $8.50 for a beer,chug away... Food,4 star,yes i did miss fish and chips,becouse thats served daily on p@o,plenty of choices,we breakfast in the horizon court,fine,fresh food to choose from, lunch and dinner in MDR hobart,so fresh ,clean air,walked to botanical gardens,into town port arthur same cruised past wineglass bay,in calm seas we are going to the islands for 8 nights in dec.thats how much we loved ruby princess... and the internet is fast,best i have experienced at sea.casino walked past it,good luck to you.. art auction not for me,shops ,jewelry,did not enter,gym walked through,and sanctuary space above,just walked past,not for us,but nice to know its avaliable we did enjoy the line dancing,a hoot,the leader of line dancing is a funny guy,gorilla,touch the dress,dance moves we remeber well .he mixed it up and had us smilling,and twisting to the tunes. okay.thats your bloomin lot...
