To begin we are Platinum level customers with Royal Caribbean. This guestions our continuation of business with their company. I appoligize for the rambling nature of this review. We had originally reserved this cruise because it had a stop in Havana, Cuba. That was canceled due to political reasons this was not Royal Caribbean’s fault. The ship is old and showing it’s age. A lot of rust and over painting to disguise age. Has one pool which looks old and needs update. No room to relax by the pool. The cabin was acceptable but it was a “Junior Suite-1564” located directly under the pool deck. We should have known better. Very noisy with constant chair movement and constant stomping by other passengers. This the only deck (10) on this ship that has balcony cabins. There was a sewage smell from the drainage system in this cabin and other locations. We have done at least 15 cruises with RC, Holland, Carnival, and Norwegian. Never had that problem before. We had one of the greatest Cabin Attendants we have ever had. In fact RC has great employees on this ship. They are greatly under appreciated. To continue we both became sick after dining at The Windjammer one night. We believe it was from Shrimp we had eaten. The food at the Buffet and Dining Room is extremely ordinary and needs improvement. There are no special dining restaurants that are worth paying a penny extra. The entertainment is ordinary and we really didn’t bother. We exercise everyday of our lives. For some reason they needed to block the walking trail /deck with cleaning crew everyday. Do this maintenance at night. This was a long five day cruise. We would have probably gotten off early if we could. Due to the cancellation of Havana, Costa Maya was added. The Costa Maya Port has a pleasant appearance but you are constantly confronted by over zealous sales people. Cozumel is pretty much your typical cruise port. Hang out in an over priced chain restaurant/bar or go on one of the excursions that is at every other port. The disembarkation was the worst we have ever experienced. We were late into Port Everglades due to a Medical Emergency. We had to stop outside Key West to transfer a patient to The US Cost Guard. Again this was not RC’s fault. But what followed the next day was their fault. We were instructed to meet in The Chorus Line Theater and would be told when to disembark. We waited and waited finally we found out by a follow passenger that we should have been told but were not. The 9:45 AM time turned into 11:30 AM. It was disorganized and the extremely long lines were stressful. Well we finally got off the ship and got to the luggage pick up area only to not find my bag. Well the tag designating “4” was torn off. Thankfully an RC employee helped me find the bag. Passengers attempting to board were causing over crowding in the Cruise Port Area. Not their fault...again RC’s fault. To conclude RC needs to concentrate on rewarding their loyal customers like my wife and I instead of trying to build gigantic expensive ships. Another final comment is their overt attempts to get every last penny they can out of their customers with no thought at all. DO NOT cruise on The Majesty Of The Seas!!

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Decent cabin. It was clean but had a sewage smell. Our Cabin Attendant was the best we had ever had on all of our past cruises. This was not his fault it was due to the age of the ship. Cabin was noisy due it’s location.
