We chose this cruise as we have cruised over 15 times with Carnival in the past and had never experienced their larger mega ship class. The negatives first: the layout of the ship in regards to pools, restaurants, casino, and especially bathroom placement was ridiculous and incredibly inefficient. There are no hot tubs at the main midship pool, and then there is no pool on the serenity deck which is on the 15th deck at the very front of the ship. Elevators were impossible to catch leaving us to walk the stairs often. The Casino was cramped, hot, and extra smoky. Seemingly air purifiers and AC we're broke or not used. Truly the worst casino layout/experience of any ship we've ever been on. The most odd thing was having to walk to a different floor or different section of the ship for a restroom in regards to the dining room and Casino. Positives: food in the dining room for dinner and brunch was excellent. Most staff throughout the ship was pleasant and very courteous. The rear 10th deck pool had two hottubs and was the best layout, but you missed out on the main activities and games and big screen/movies which were only done at the main mid-ship pool. Bar staff at rear pool and Casino were excellent! Overall, will never go on this ship again. We will stick to the older ships in the future.
Cabin was nice. Had a main bathroom with shower and had a second bathroom with a sink and bathtub. Was spacious and was able to use the couch as a made-up third bed. Had plenty of closet space and desk space. The window was nice and large without obstruction Only negative was that the floor boards underneath the carpet creeked and felt soft like they were rotten in places as well as a few noticeable stains in the carpet.
