This was our second river cruise. The first cruise was with UniWorld and he had a great experience, this time around we chose Scenic as their luxury brand was something that we couldn't ignore. We certainly made the right choice. The rooms were larger (we had suites on both cruises) on Scenic, the food was quite good for the most part (some hit and miss but found that on our other cruise as well), but what really stood out to us was the staff.
The staff on the Scenic Sapphire were nothing short of amazing. From top to bottom we felt welcome, valued and always taken care of. In fact when the cruise was over and we were staying in Nice for an extra day, we ended up calling the ship to get/verify information about airport shuttles and they immediately took our call and helped us. They didn't just dump us off and forgot about us, they took the time to help us when we asked.
From the cleaning staff to the restaurant staff, to the crew members who would ask me if I needed anything when they didn't have to, to the front desk staff and the captain, everyone was extremely nice, friendly and they made our experience the best it could possibly be. For this reason alone I will continue to use Scenic on future cruises.
This room was very spacious and nicely organized. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the balcony was outstanding. We loved the suite.
We arrived in Paris a few days early to experience the city since my wife and I had never been to France. Beautiful city but after 4 days we were ready to move on.
Avignon was really cool. The pope's palace was a great tour however the icing on the cake was the private evening concert. We took a mini train from the boat to the palace, which was fun as hell, and the concert was put on by three amazing musicians. The classical music was beautiful and the overall experience was outstanding.
