Wanted to do a back to back cruise to compare Carnival to RCCL. My first ever RCCL sailing. I embarked with Royal on the 1st cruise. They wow'ed me!

Embarkation was long and hot - but they had Royal employees standing outside handing us much-welcomed ice water to keep everyone cooled off and hydrated (unlike Carnival - they didn't care if the elderly dropped of heat stroke - we all went without water for hours in the blazing hot, swampy temperatures/high humidity). This was extremely telling for me.

Overall, service was terrific - genuine smiles from happy, long term employees. Expedited service in MDR with no errors and delicious food. They obviously have not had the extreme cutbacks here that Carnival has. Even at the buffet, they had the thickest, most TENDER, generous steak kabobs (by far beating ANYTHING Carnival offers even at their MDR).

Interior

Felt spacious, bathroom nice. Well kept. Cleaned well. Soft beds without being too soft. Great linens. Knob for turning down or "off" loud public announcements. Room nice and cool. Nice area for putting on makeup. Shampoo/Shower gel included. Nice shower - pretty little touches.
