My husband and I have cruised on Halloween before and really enjoyed it so we thought we would give the Harmony a shot. The ship was nice newer than Oasis. We chose a Boardwalk balcony. The bed was as hard as a rock. We did request additional padding, but that didn’t help. The Abyss slide obstructs you’re view so you are unable to watch any shows from your balcony. The room was very nice and clean and our stateroom attendant Daniel was wonderful. We did enjoy Grease , the ice show , and Columbus the musical.
We were very very disappointed at Jamie’s Italian. The food was very salty and not good at all. Don’t know why they removed Giovanni’s. That was a wonderful restaurant. We also ate at 150 Central and that was okay. We found that the food on the Oasis was so much better than Harmony. It seemed like they were short staffed on the Harmony. If you went to Cafe Promenade dirty dishes were left on tables and no one was there to clean them up. The Windjammer food was okay. It seemed like the Oasis Windjammer was larger than Harmony’s. The dessert presentation was poor. Mousse , mousse and more mousse. They did have a chocolate buffet one night and nice cakes the last night but the other nights were awful. The Oasis has the Harmony beat in the Windjammer for sure.
Service was okay. Oasis also had better service. We did have an excellent stateroom attendant. The Halloween parade was good but lacked in decorations. No balloons falling from the ceiling like on Oasis last year.
Nice clean room pretty spacious ,but the mattress was as hard as a rock. Thank god we brought an egg crate mattress with us. My husband has herniated discs in his back and if we didn’t bring the egg crate we would have been in trouble. The Abyss slide is obstructing your view from your balcony so you are unable to watch the water show.
