Have done 5 Princess cruises, are platinum members and were interested to cruise on the Majestic even though we had done the cruise twice before.
The dining team for table we had for table 299 had difficulty understanding our requirements. Food service was very slow for the 7.30pm and on occasions we missed the late show in the Princess theatre. Wine service was particularly slow as the wine bottles had to be accesses from lower decks on the ship. The food in the market place was well prepared and presented nicely.
There was a number of tender ports and the tender service generally was ok on a couple of occasions there were significant delays in getting back to the ship from the shore where clearly another couple of tenders could have assisted.
Cabin was a little smaller than on other Princess ships, although very well laid out with modern facilities which you would expect on a new ship. Our Cabin steward Jacinto was excellent most helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him.
Prompt service to duty free and return to ship.
Tender port. Very slow tender service back to the ship from the island
Took the shuttle into the city and took a guided tour from the shore for $25 AUS each compared to the similar Princess tour which was $149 each
Wandered off the ship got the tender - very small island with good snorkelling which we didn't experience as the weather was poor.
Noumea has improved as a destination. Much improved on 5 years ago.
