Sail Date: May 2010

I cruised with Royal Caribbean on May 3, 2010 on Majesty of The Seas to Key West Florida, Nassau, Bahamas, and Coco Cay Bahamas. We left Sunday May 2nd, just in case we ran into any problems. We arrived on time in Miami, Florida. We slept in the airport. It wasn't bad at all. We sat right next to the Royal Caribbean desk and stayed there all night. When the staff came in that next morning, that is when the wonderful, top notched service started. The representative greeted us and took our luggage off our hands. She told us to walk around and burn some time and she would watch our luggage. It was like a load off! About an hour or so later, two men showed up and took our checked baggage to the ship and approximately 15 minutes later, our charter bus came and whisked us away to our ship. Upon arrival we went into the terminal and went through security. We went from one step to another without any problems. All of the lines moved at a steady rate. Before we knew it, we were on the ship. Our state rooms would not be ready until 1:00 P.M. They had the buffet open in windjammers for us to eat, and once you ate, you are free to roam the ship. Everywhere except the state rooms. Promptly at 1 we were allowed to go to our rooms. The state rooms were small, but manageable. They give you closets and shelves to store all of our belongings. Now the bathroom only gives you enough room to do what you got to do and get out. It was about the size of a closet. Our luggage arrived to our floor at around 6pm. We unpacked and went to a 70's party that they held in the centrum. We had a ball. We danced and partied the night away. On day 2, We woke up and were in Key West. The view was beautiful. The only thing missing was a view of the beach. We found out that the beach was a 30 min drive. We didn't want to take the chance of not getting back to the ship in time or being double charged for a ride back to the ship, so we elected to just walk around the city to shop and sight see. We went down to the southernmost point of the US and took pictures. Then we just shopped around. We were there from 7 am till 230 pm. Well, it turned into 3 pm because we were missing two passengers. So we waited for 30 minutes and they still didn't show. The captain announced that he guessed that the passengers would be staying in Florida, because He couldn't wait any longer. As soon as He announced that we saw the (almost) stranded couple WALKING back to the ship. So anyway, We had another day full of activities and games and parties, all led by our cruise director, who was hilarious. He reminded me of Kirk Franklin. So the next day, We eat breakfast at the windjammer and play games. We arrived a Nassau, Bahamas at 12:54. Our captain took the time to let us know that he had gotten us there a full 6 minutes early, and he was proud of it. Now this view from deck 8 was spectacular. And we actually could see the beach. It was in walking distance. The view of Atlantis was nice too. I wish I would have known that we could have went to Atlantis and played on their private beach for free. But next Time I will take advantage. When you get off the ship in the Bahamas, you will have people trying to sell you everything. If you are not interested then just keep walking. We decided to go to the beach and spend the day there.  Any way, we found the beach pretty easily and the water is sooo pretty. Its clear, you can stand up and look down and see your feet. Keep an eye on your belongings while you play in the water. While no one messed with our stuff, we did notice a few suspects lingering around. One guy actually looked into someones bag!!! Our evening event was a visit to a local bar called Bahamas Joe's. It was packed full of people. It was fun and the drink was good. We got back on the ship and enjoyed more festivities. The next day we woke up in CoCoCay. The island was beautiful and secluded. In some places on the beach, you could walk out into the middle of the ocean and the water would only come up to your ankles!!! It looked like people were walking on the water. Put on plenty of sunblock, cause I got sunburned and I am African American. Who'd thought?!!! So the next day was disembarkation day, everything went smooth. We went straight to the gate with no problems. They ushered us to our bus and off to the airport we went. Now to fill in some gaps, The muster drill was pretty easy. They didn't make us wear life jackets for it, we just had to go to our muster station and stand against the wall. Some stations are outside, but ours was inside Boleros. The shows and games were pretty good. They had 2 musicals and 2 comedians that weren't bad. They also had 2 pool parties with buffets, games like QUEST, which was HILARIOUS!!! Don't miss that game for nothing! They had contests like the men's belly-flop contest and Mr. Hot-stuff. They had Bingo, the casino, karaoke, a game room... The list just goes on and on. The service was top notch. They waited on us hand and foot, fingers and toes. Their staff is very personable and nice. They make you feel like ROYALTY. I guess that's why its called Royal Caribbean!!! I will definitely sail with them again!! 10 stars!!!!
