Oosterdam Cruise Review by Mr. Spock Kirk
- Sail Date: October 2019
- Destination: Hawaii
- Cabin Type: Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom
The great service continues at most levels from room stewards to managerial staff, with a personal touch in knowing your name.
Dining in the MDR has always been semi-gourmet, with small portions like very expensive restaurants, so order a side of steamed veggies. The buffet needs improvement, with more proteins and less carbohydrates.
The entertainment is very limited on a seven day cruise, with only two production shows with dancers and no singers. The other activities (cooking class, classical music) can only seat thirty people. Huh?! Be ready to self-entertain while onboard.
If you want to save money, book your shore excursions at the port or before the cruise. It is the classic case of a cheaper price for the same product.
Embarkation and disembarkation went very well, and if you carry your luggage off the ship, you well get off at a early time.
