  3. Caribbean Princess
We have not been on Princess for about 8 years and decided to do the Canada New England itinerary on the Caribbean Princess. She is definitely not the right ship to do that itinerary. It was cold and the decks were unusable which led to overcrowding inside. If the ship had had a covered pool at least we would have been able to spend some time outside. When we joined the ship we were delayed in New York for several hours as they were doing extra cleaning for Norwalk. We were under Norwalk protocol for several days - we found out when we got on board that they had had Norwalk for several weeks and hadn't been able to control it. There were many gaps in the protocol (allowing people to handle condiments at the hamburger and pizza bars and the paid coffee bar). Most annoying was the lack of seats for the show. There were 3019 people on board. The theatre only held 848 people and there were only two performances of any show - so 1696 could see it. If you weren't in the theatre at least an hour before the show started you were not going too get a seat. With the deck unusable there weren't a lot of entertainment options. Tried to talk to the front desk about it - they didn't care, left a note for the cruise director - he never got back to me, left a message on Princess' Facebook page - they told me to contact the front desk (which I already had), emailed Princess Customer service a week ago - haven't heard from them. We spent an extra day in Boston and missed Bar Harbor and St John and Princess offered us a 20% credit on a future cruise - so we have to buy another cruise to get any compensation. Definitely not good enough. The food was okay - but as we haven't been on Princess for 8 years we saw a definite deterioration in the quality of food offered in the dining room. The steak has been removed from the "always available" menu and replaced with a hamburger, there was chili on the dinner menu in the main dining room! All in all a disappointing cruise for many reasons.

Princess - Not what it used to be!
