Always wanted to cruise on QM2 and we chose to do this for our Golden Wedding celebration. We booked a Princess Grill Suite. Whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise sailing on QM2 did not come up to my expectation. The ship itself had a significant amount of rust showing on the superstructure and a number of the seating areas needed reupholstering. Our suite was quite spacious but there were stains on the carpet and on the settee. Bearing in mind the price we paid the on board credit was limited and there was no internet time included. The brochure suggests that dining in the ‘Grills restaurants make your every meal something extra special to savour.....’ . I’m afraid it wasn’t that special, whilst the food was good it was not extra special. We frequently had to ask for extra vegetables but All were steamed and lacked variety.

The ship arranged shore excursions were very expensive for what was on offer and the onboard drinks were also expensive for the quantity of the drink served. Cabin staff, restaurant staff were great and couldn’t do enough to help you. The other admin staff were not as friendly.

The theatre shows were the poorest we had seen on any cruise line we have sailed with, again not what I would have expected from the flag ship on Cunard.
