Our expectations had been set to expect a high quality cruise experience. Unfortunately reality didn’t measure up. My husband and I travelled with our 17 year old daughter. This was our first experience with Princess having previously cruised with Royal Caribbean and P&O. We felt that the quality of the food was t great, whilst they use high quality produce we didn’t enjoy many dishes served to us. Proteins were consistently over cooked with the exception of strip steak one night that we all really enjoyed. Seasoning was non existent.
The entertainment that we saw one night (Hobart) consisted of a group of Irish dancers from the local dance school, mainly young girls, fundraising for a overseas trip. The advertised pipe band did not appear. There were no announcements ts regarding this. We expected Entertainment in the main theatre to be of better quality. On our last night there was no entertainment in the theatre. We were expecting more production type shows.
We did pay for a coffee card but found the coffee quality woeful. More training for the “baristas” is needed. This seems to be the case on most ships unfortunately. This was our first and last cruise with Princess
The cabin was clean and tidy when we boarded, the cabin attendant did keep it this way. Unfortunately he didn’t fold the sofa bed unless we specifically requested he do so. This made using the balcony impossible without having to climb over the bed. The location of the cabin was fine, very quiet. There isn’t a light on the balcony due to interference to the bridge at night.
