We chose this cruise for the itinerary - which was very disappointing as far as Costa Maya is concerned and we wanted to try a larger ship as we only had experienced our previous 6 cruises on smaller (2000 guest) ships. We were disappointed that there were line ups for everywhere - which we had not previously experienced. We were disappointed that the grandeur of the smaller ships was not there - no grand staircase - atrium was too small and used for the games which I could not participate in because there was not enough seating. Bingo held in Syd Norman's Pour House was also limited seating for those who wanted to play until the final game which was done on the last sea day in the theatre. Speigel tent space was under utilized and could have easily hosted the Bingo and Deal or No Deal games - Dr. L in Syd Norman's Pour House was by far the best staff on the entire ship ! Hands down - personable and we loved to go there but again - limited seating - entertainment was fantastic but stood for most of the shows - except 1. Rock of Ages in the theatre was an excellent show. Buffet was poorly organized for breakfast - to have an omelet made - I had to wait behind cereal people and people who wanted to grab premade scrambled eggs and bacon. Breakfast staff at O'Sheehan's were poorly trained. Loved listening to Leo - soothing music when you could get a seat.

Overall - we made the best of our vacation, but will not book on this ship again.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony Stateroom

We liked our cabin and especially it's location since we paid for an upgrade and had no idea where we would end up. Our toilet was dirty when we arrived. Our kleenex box went empty and we had to show the empty box. I never saw our steward at all - my husband saw him twice and he was not very friendly. Every other cruise we have been on - we saw our person in the hallway at least 1-3 times a day and they knew us by name. And we also always tip additionally even though gratutities are prepaid. We never once had a towel animal but the room was kept clean until the wire in the t.v. got pulled out

Port Reviews

Roatan

Easily able to get a cab and go to a beach that was reasonable

Harvest Caye

loved the zipline and appreciated very much the chairs and umbrellas

Costa Maya

This is by far the worst beach I have ever been on - they ripped us off by charging us U.S. 32 to go to a beach 7 minutes away - where you could not go in the water due to rocks and seaweed on the ocean floor and vendors down your throat ever two minutes.

I'm a 61 year old woman who does not smoke cigars

Cozumel

Able to find someone who arranged taxi to Tequila Beach - u.s. 40$ with 10 taxi ride each way - chairs and umbrellas incl. and you could buy a bucket of beer and food. Water was delicious but too bad I had to wait so long to get the best beach of the trip
