This was our first river cruise. We did a 2 day pre-cruise stay in Amsterdam. The Hotel Pestana Riverside was our hotel arranged by Viking. The hotel was nice, and a good breakfast buffet was included.

The services provided by Viking are great. All of the ship staff were great. Gavin, the Vidar Program Director, was excellent. The food on the Vidar was very good, and I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. I was hoping to wowed by the dinner entrees since there are only 190 passengers. However, I would rate them as comparable to the dinners we've had on Princess and RCL.

The tour guides we had on our included and optional tours were very knowledgeable.

Cabin Review

Veranda Stateroom

Cabin B

The cabin was average size with adequate storage for all our things. The bathroom was very nice. The shower was a litter larger than the typical ocean cruise ship shower.
