We chose this cruise trying to get away from the stifling heat with hopes of enjoying the fall foliage season. Unfortunately there were no beautiful colors this year. I understand Mother Nature controls that. The ports had delicious lobster and chowder but that was about it. Our balcony cabin felt more cramped than ships in the past with the closet in the cabin area leaving no privacy or extra sleep for your partner while one dresses. The staff on the ship was excellent but our cabin steward lacking. We had no tissue at times and to get a couple of washcloths exhausting. By far the worst part of the Escape was the unbearable cigarette smell permeating the ship. Actually nauseating at times. The food was average except our La Cucina visit. Cannot recommend that restaurant. Getting on and off the ship was fine choosing to use disembark carrying our own luggage.
