We chose this cruise on the advise of relatives, whom we went on the cruise with. Mistake! So many negatives; bad food, leaking EVERYWHERE, boring shows, mildew smells, just worn out and gross! The carpet was stained and ripped in many areas. The waitstaff seemed kind of uninterested in getting to know us, except for one. Our headwaiter in the Capri dining room, Danje was very nice and knowledgeable. But, most everyone else was kind of rude, actually. I felt like everyone working on board was just going through the motions and trying to just get it over with. We didn't feel welcomed or special. It was more like cattle heading. After the cruise ended, we just wished we had never even gone, that's how bad it was. We couldn't wait to just go home. Next cruise we take, we will do more research. This ship was way past it's prime.
The safe kept malfunctioning, so we had to call the room steward to have someone come and fix it. The best part of the entire cruise was the bed! Very comfortable and cozy.
The room was old, dingy and drab like the rest of the ship.
In Astoria, we walked off the ship and looked around. It's a cute little town.
San Francisco was unusually hot on the day we were there (93 DEGREES), so it was uncomfortable. But, we had fun taking a double decker bus tour across the Golden Gate Bridge and through all of the neighborhoods of the city. We also shopped at the Fisherman's Wharf and Girardelli Square. Very fun.
In Monterey, we took an Uber to Carmel to see the little town. It was so different!
Victoria is a beautiful city and great for walking around the shops and restaurants. A must see.
