Hubby and I were celebrating our 20 year anniversary and went back to the Caribbean where we honeymooned 20 years prior. Knowing it’s the end of hurricane season we were aware of the potential. Unfortunately, this was the year of never ending storms in the Atlantic. We left Florida with a storm brewing it were hoping to outrun it. We landed in Puerto Rico which due to the 6.1 earthquake the day before and the impending storms, the entire town was closed-nothing to do. But we were leaving at 6pm so no big deal. Wrong. Our next port was canceled due to said storm and we were stuck in closed Puerto Rico a full day longer. And being stuck at the dock the onboard casino was closed. 2 days later we did get to Tortola which was relaxing and beautiful. That night we were to sail a day to the Bahamas, but apparently someone on the ship thought we needed to see Puerto Rico again and had a medical emergency that required the ship to turn around so they could be helicoptered to a medical facility. That detour canceled our Bahama stop and therefore we just hit the open seas for a 2day trip back to Miami. Overall, the food was good and the service was great. Unfortunately, having so much extra time on the ship left us eating too much and sitting too much. If we had known we would be shipbound so much we would have brought extra books and activities to pass the time. Sunbathing wasn’t even an option since we had frequent storms pass dropping torrential rains. We do cruise often and can say this was the worst experience ever, but the majority of them have been excellent. Unfortunately this was the first without kids in 10 years and were hoping for a better experience.

Anything that could go wrong, did...

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony Stateroom
Cabin B1 11914
Extra large handicap accessible room (which thankfully we don’t require). The extra room made staying onboard a little more comfortable. Extra large balcony also made morning coffee and fruit very relaxing.
Deck 14 Inside Cabins, Balcony Cabins, Suite Cabins
