This cruise was a last minute decision and the most delightful surprise. A 1400 passenger ship now qualifies for a small ship experience. The Veendam was renovated in April and its classic charm updated into a modern version of the same.Beautiful antiques throughout, easy to get to any place on the ship, absolute fine dining in the main dining room and in specialty restaurants.Chef Guru handled all dining venues from Rudi's Seafood, Canalettti,Pinnacle Grill and buffet to perfection.Classical entertainment by Marian on violin, and beautiful shows especially the Planet of the Stars in main theatre. Other musical performances happy and fun.Service impeccable in all dining areas.Even have a happy hour in 2 bars twice a day!!Many more ports than the usual Canada/New England cruise.
Officers friendly and kudos especially to Chief Engineer Paul Jacobs and Hotel director Leonie Henry who were visible and so engaging.
Can't wait to book this ship again!
Excellent spacious cabin with perfect room stewart!
Walked around for many hours and enjoyed their seafood.
Halifax always a pleasure and the pubs were great.
Glad they are building another slip because this charming city is on the rise!
A little better in the summer where the beaches are accessible but always charming.
Quebec City was the highlight port.So European and the food excellent and the view from the ship spectacular!
