We had a wonderful time on our Alaska cruise on the Bliss from Seattle. First, I would like to praise the captain who made a couple of difficult decisions regarding when to leave a port and to skip a port. When we were in Skagway there were extremely high winds (50+ mph) and delayed our leaving the port for 6 hours but hardly affected our itinerary in Glacier Bay. The other decision was to not stop in Ketchican due gale force winds, which in my opinion was a smart move. Now on to the ship, they definitely made changes from the Breakaway and Encore that were more appealing such as; adding the racetrack and laser tag (replaces ropes course), enclosing an area in the casino for smokers so the smoke doesn't permeate the rest of the casino and surrounding areas, reconfiguring the comedy club with the stage in the center, switching the blues club to the Cavern Club, adding the observation lounge (especially the one in the Haven), having the Haven sun deck span the entire front of the ship with two hot tubs, the addition of the Food Republic and Q (both excellent food). The shows; Jersey Boys is fantastic, I didn't think Six was good, comedy shows were excellent, Beatles shows were excellent but unfortunately got overcrowded when in the Cavern Club. Ate most of our meals in Haven (outstanding)but on specialty nights had good meals in Q and Tepanyaki, however Cagney's but was a bit subpar and did miss not having a Moderno on board. One night tried meal in Manhattan room which was a disaster and was given a free lunch at Food Republic because of it (which we loved and wish we knew about it before). Local was good for snacks. Lastly, entertainment staff was terrific as was our Concierge David and the entire Haven staff were first rate. Port Valet is a terrific feature of the Seattle cruise port where they send your luggage directly to your airline and check it in.

Cabin Review

The Haven Forward-facing Penthouse with Balcony

Cabin H7

Same nicely appointed rooms as the Breakaway or Encore. Comfortable bed, plenty of storage, nice living room, wonderful bathroom, small balcony.

Port Reviews

Glacier Bay

Beautiful area and sad to see how they are quickly melting. Park ranger was brought onboard to navigate the time in Glacier Bay.

Victoria

Beautiful town which was exceptionally clean and historic.
