Loved this ship design, loved the itinerary. But the service varied from excellent, to adequate, to poor. First time on one of Carnival's big ships. Plenty to do every day. Cabin service was excellent, some of the best I ever had. Entertainment ran the gamut, some very good music groups, I thought the show performers were quite average (the Cuba show was great), bar service was overall fine, but the dining service was poor. Slow, inattentive, and often wrong. The restaurant management did try to address it, but it never got solved. The comedy club is too small. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early for the adult shows to make sure you get a seat. The main theater is oddly designed. I'd guess at least half of the seats have some level of obstructed views due to odd seating angles, a flat main seating area, and metal posts. Loved the itinerary with plenty to do in all ports

Cabin Review

Interior
Cabin 4A 1225
Decent sized for a low cost interior. Small cooler. You could feel the ocean roll the ship in rough water, so probably not the best location if you easily get seasick. VERY quiet, decent sized shower. Not a ton of storage space if you bring a lot of clothes, but enough room for the typical cruiser

  • Aruba
This was way too much for me to handle. Most of the ride is uphill over rough terrain, with a strong ocean wind. If you are a strong rider, the scenery is beautiful. But it was so much of a physical challenge it wasn't much fun. The ride took so long I only had about 15 minutes at a very rocky beach stop. Guide was very pleasant but didn't speak English that well

  • Cave Tour
The cave is uphill, very hot and humid inside. The beach was jampacked, filled with lounge chairs, water not very clear. The city tour's was basically the drive out (you see the airport) and the drive back (you drive over the giant bridge then through some mostly rundown house) By the time we got back - after 6p - almost all of the historic downtown area shops were closed. We browsed the portside stalls on the way back to the ship.

  • Grand Turk
Billed as a hop on hop off shuttle to four stops around the island, this turned into a private personal tour since we arrived early morning and no one else had booked that time. Went to all the island hotspots, and end up with a couple of hours at Governor's Beach. Beautiful and far less crowded than the beach by the port. When I was ready to go my ride showed up in a few minutes. Highly recommend if you just want a low stress island overview and some great beach time. Water is pristine

  • La Romana (Casa de Campo)
Take a taxi (extra charge $15 RT) about 20 minutes to Bayahibe. Speedboat takes you about 20 minutes to Saona Island which is beautiful. They serve you a tradition Dominican lunch. The you can enjoy the beach (plenty of shade) or the beautiful water. Next stop is a natural sand bar where you can lounge in the water and see starfish on the ocean floor. Ingrid the owner/guide was great, informative and fun. Get you back to the ship in plenty of time. Highly recommend
