My sister had never been outside the US and when I went to Barcelona 2 years ago she said to take lots of pictures because that would be the closest she’d ever get to Europe. I said “WHY?!?” She said her husband hates traveling. I said, “You don’t need him to go, I’ll go with you!” And the adventure was on! For 13 glorious days we explored a total of 8 countries and fell in love with every one of them! The Viking Star is luxurious elegance, from the deluxe veranda where I sipped hot tea in the mornings while watching the sun rise, to the multiple dining venues, the Explorer’s Lounge to the infinity pool, and the Spa... Let me just say that Nordic Bathing is my new indulgence! Those Vikings really knew how to pamper themselves!
The ports on the Mediterranean Odyssey cruise were amazing, each one so unique that every morning was like Christmas, with a delightful new gift to unwrap and explore each day.
Without a doubt, though, the best surprise for me was the staff. From Tejo, who greeted us with a smile every time we entered or left our cabin, and kept it sparkling clean and well stocked with whatever we wanted, to the maitre’d of the Restaurant, who greeted us by name and sat us at a shared table with 6 other delightful voyagers the first night. We all became fast friends and spent most of the rest of the evenings of the cruise laughing and sharing our days’ adventures with each other over delicious meals representing whatever country we had just visited.
Quite comfortable and roomy, well stocked.
Too crowded, dirty and crawling with pickpockets
Dinner at Teoric was amazing!
Beautiful beach town, very laid back
Had fun exploring on our own!
Pisa was too crowded and too many pickpockets
What an amazing city, ancient and modern happily married!
Loved how NOT touristy Cavtat is!
I will go back and spend more time in Croatia!
Lovely final port, loved every minute of this extraordinary cruise!
