My family and I just returned from the 5 day Exotic Eastern Caribbean on the the Carnival Elation. Let me 1st start off by we never made it to any of our designated ports. My family and I have cruised a lot over the years and this by far was the worst cruise we have ever been on. This ship is older even after been refurbished in 2018. There is not a lot of activities on board, the staff is very unfriendly especially at the bars and Pixels. The pool is very small and the serenity deck has no pools only 2 hot tubs that the water was always freezing. We stayed on Deck 14 and the entire time we were on the ship there was only 1 working elevator on the ship that went to Deck 14. And half the time you had couldn't get on the elevator because there was a group of teenagers who were constantly joy riding on the elevator. The food on Lido was not great, and every time we ate at the dining room we were rushed by the staff. And if you purchase the alcohol package the drinks are very watered down.

From the time the ship departed on Sat the entire ship was rocking. So badly that passengers were experiencing motion sickness. We departed on Sat 9/21 and was informed on Sunday that due to the ship experiencing mechanical problems we will not be docking at any of the designated ports. We were re routed to Nassau on Monday to see if the ship could be repaired, and left on Tuesday morning with the ship still not being able to be repaired.. There were no excursions offered by Carnival in Nassau because of the previous hurricane in the Bahamas. We were informed that we will be compensated with $100 on board credit per person and 50% off a future sailing. On board credit which you had to use on there ship, so in reality we got no compensation.

I fully understand that sometimes issues comes up beyond our control, but I also believe in being treated fairly. The compensation we received for this cruise was terrible considering the hassle we went through. At no point and time was it any of the guest fault that the ship had mechanical issues. Carnival needs to step up and give all there guests that was on this sailing all a better compensation.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deck 14

We had 2 cabins total on Deck 14. Our cabins were always very clean and well maintained. Esperanza was our room steward, she was wonderful. She even gave us something to help with my motion sickness after she saw how sick I got from the ship rocking.
