Our first Disney Cruise was on the Dream roughly 5 years ago, and this is what got us hooked on Disney Cruise. We felt it was time to revisit the Dream has it had been a while, and it now featured the much loved Beauty and the Beast show. This 3-night cruise would also have the potential to be the perfect ending to a 2-week vacation.

Ship:

The Disney Dream has a classic look. The common areas are well maintained and everything was in good conditions. Clean washrooms, good entertainment venues, very decent "adult-only" area, and sufficient "water play" options given that the Dream almost sails exclusive 3 and 4 night itineraries to the Bahamas, with one day at Disney;s private island. For those in the AFT section of the ship, trying to move around before staterooms are actually ready, navigating the Dream can be a bit challenging as I did not find it as well laid out of the classic ships, the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic. Navigation was smooth

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah (oversized verandah)

Cabin 05E

We had one of my favorite cabin type which is a full AFT cabin with an extended Verandah. Being at the back of the ships provide for great views on the ocean, as well as when docking at Castaway Cay. The extended verandah is nice as this is one of a few rooms that actually features lounger chairs on the balcony. The cabin was in really good shape and had sufficient space to store luggage and move around. I love the split bathroom concept - but less of a fan of the new fixed bottles for amenities (ie: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap). Temperature control was adequate, with the room overall ending being on the cool side - even though it was quite warm and humid outside. Those AFT cabin will get a bit more vibration when the ship is turning or breaking - but it is manageable. Being AFT on a high floor also meant quick access to the main buffet for breakfast and lunch. Bed was comfortable and we did sleep really well on this trip. Great cabin attendant who would refresh the cabin on a regular basis. Nice, somewhat quiet area of the ship

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Good embarkation port. Quick and friendly check-in. Lacks sufficient seating space though for number of guests. Quick and efficient embarkation
