Overall this cruise experience was a good one. Definitely not the best but not bad either. Food definitely has room for improvement. As a person who works in the restaurant industry it’s hard for me to be satisfied with food options and venues. The main dining halls are the complimentary/ no charge dining fare. The food was what you would expect on a so so cruise nothing to rave about. They should offer more variety and cross train their cooks better. Food quality and taste was different everyday for dinner. Though we did eat at two of their ala cart restaurants I was only impressed with one. Food was amazing at that one restaurant. My mom who went two nights before ate the same exact thing but said it was terrible. So not all their cooks are up to par. As for the ship itself it was fairly clean and enjoyable. I did here many people raving about their experience. Stirrup cay was also very beautiful. However my only gripe was that the beach area of the cabana that we rented was extremely rocky and very rough waves. For being a private area I didn’t feel it was worth the money because you really couldn’t relax in the water because of all the rocks and rough waves. The main area for the regular beach goers was much more calm. The cabana itself was a nice way to relax and lounge and we had our own private butler to get out drinks. The other gripe I had about the their island was the food. Sorry NCL it was pretty bad. The ceviche was not cured correctly. It felt like they used the citrus juice concentrate to cure cook the raw seafood. It was bitter and mostly uncooked. Other options were terrible as well. We tried the main dining hall and the food truck and both were flops. Overall the experience was great. We had a great time with our family and the staff treated us great. Remember these words for the Norwegian Sun, “Washee Washee”.
Food was terrible and ocean floor very rocky and rough waves. However the views were beautiful and our butler was awesome.
