First time on Norwegian. Wanted try try something different. Boy was that a mistake ! I go on a cruise to relax, eat good food and hopefully be entertained onboard. The destinations are secondary (but important). The good - my cabin was nice and my attendant was terriffic. The staff at the service desk was good too. Some of the people in the restaurants were also good. But others seemed to not really care too much about the passengers. You felt they were there for the paycheck.

Then there is the ship - a little run down in areas - my balcony railing was peeling, there were rusty areas too. We had a lounge chair on the balcony - until one day it was gone !! No asking - just took it. Even the TV facility was annoying. There was but a single TV show and a single movie station (along with a bunch of news stations). Everything else was pay-for-view. The same shows played day after day. Programming logic was crazy. For example, at 10 or 11pm when you may want to relax and watch a show before bed - they were playing Cartoons !! The real kicker though was how you could be watching a 30 minute TV show and 15-20 minutes in to the show - poof - its gone and starting a new show. No ending ! It happened all the time ! very annoying !

But the reason I would not cruise Norwegian again would be the food. I expect reasonably good food in the restaurants and decent food at the buffet. I am not expecting gourmet food. What they served was sub-par for me, as well as several other couples we met during the cruise. The menu repeated many things from day to day. The three main dining rooms all served the same menu each day. It definitely felt that that food was some place they were trying to save money on. It just was not good, portions small, no premium items like shrimp, scallops or lobster to be found anywhere. In fact one waiter told me to go the the extra cost dining rooms if I wanted that type of food ! The buffet was generally pretty marginal. I've had some fresher, warmer meals at McDonalds !
