We considered ourselves lucky that we rescheduled this cruise from a Mediterrean cruise (due to airfare costs) as this was the week that the volcano cruise and we most likely would not have made it to the original cruise. Sadly about 400 Europeans did not make this cruise, so a sold out ship felt not so sold out. We are in our early fiftes, with two teenagers ages 13 and 16. This is our fifth cruise, second on RCCI

Precruise: We spent three days precruise in LA staying at OMG.travel apartments. They were centrally located; clean and very large for our two teen/two adults. We were very busy with a Dodgers game; tv taping, universal, farmers market etc. We returned our rental and hired a private Supershuttle Van to take my family and then pick up my sisters family at an airport hotel.

We stayed in our first balcony D1. We only talked to our steward once and saw him twice; however he managed to keep the room clean and tidy
