This was our 35th cruise and our first one on Princess in about ten years. We left from NY and stayed at the Brooklyn Bridge Marriott the night before embarkation. The hotel was great and everyone was friendly and helpful. My brother and his wife traveled with us on this Canada cruise. We arranged though the hotel to get a van to take us to the port about noon and boarded with a short wait. The ship looked fine and we had no issues with our balcony room. I don’t think we are as picky as some. However, the bathrooms was the smallest we have had in many years. Our room steward was quick to introduce himself and did a great job for us the entire 10 nights.

We used room service a couple of times and it arrived earlier than our earliest requested time by ten minutes. We like that Celebrity calls when it is on the way. The breakfast menu was more of a continental breakfast, but the coffee was good & hot. We found the Buffett, Grill and the MDR food disappointing. I disagree with the review that said the food was like a Cracker Barrel, more like A Golden Coral buffet If your not familiar with Golden Coral they serve a lot of Buffett food but not of high quality. The speciality restaurants were pretty good especially the steakhouse. We ate at the steakhouse the first night (coupon book buy one get one free) and it was a disaster(service) but the second time was fine. The Italian restaurant was just OK. We had the drink package and were very disappointed in the wines by the glass available. The ones available were generally good like Decoy Chardonnay and Merlot. Mixed drinks were generally fine and well prepared. The bottled water for the drink package was small Kirkland bottles, yes Cosco water. No soft drinks in a can but fountain drinks only for the drink package. If your not not on the drink package you could get canned soft drinks and nicer bottled water. Pretty cheap on Princess! Entertainment was good but as other reviews noted you had to be in the theater at least 45 minutes prior to the show to get any seat. We do think Princess does better overall entertainment at lounges, main theater, etc. than most cruise lines we have been on lately. Overall service in dinning room and lounges was very good. We rarely had to wait for anytime dinning going about 6:30 or a little latter.

Overall we had a good time but would probably not choose Princess for our next cruise due to food quality issue and not the being able to get a seat for the shows in the theater.

Cabin was very quiet with a nice balcony. No problem with smoking on balconies next to us. Bathroom very small!
