We choose this cruise to celebrate an anniversary ,this was our 43 cruise and the third on the Summit ,We live on Long Island so don't have much interest in exploring NJ . An hour and 30 minutes we were parked and in the terminal .
Since we bid our way into a Sky Suite the embarkation was excellent, this is a modern terminal with all the newest Hi Tech Identification , we were on the ship and in our cabin in about 10 minutes ,
. This is when we noticed the Sky suite we bid on ended up being a Handicapped suite . not even close to the picture displayed when we bid up to get this suite . Not what we thought we were getting . Still a nice newly refurbished room ,but the bathroom was a bit of a problem as there is no separate shower[surround or separator ] so that a wheel chair could be used in the shower . This caused the whole floor to get soaked when being used ,a bit of inconvenience for us.I considered the balcony quite small for a suite ,we paid considerably more to get into this suite . Another annoying feature was the lack of outlets [ only one free] and the lack of shelves of cubbyholes to store small items like cameras ,cell phones etc. and the lack of a full length mirror . A nicely designed suite but not very functional. Great location only a short walk to elevators which were very fast .
Bid up to a Sky Suite ,which turned out to be a handicapped suite ,not what we thought we were bidding on .[ But I'M sure somewhere there's some buried lawyer written policy on upgrades that we didn't see allowing them to do that]
