The Edge is a fairly new ship trying to break the mould, but unfortunately it is a bit like Marmite, you etither love it or not! We are the not type. Although I have stated we had a Balcony there are two types on this ship and the Infinity balcony is definately a miss selling as it is more an ocean view with a window that opens (when it doesn't get stuck and makes a lot of noise). The ship decor is clean and modern with some odd twists but to acheive this they have removed the odd lounge and bar.

The old style main resturaunt has beem replaced with smaller ones and unfortunately did not live up to expectations and I can say the food was some of the worst I have had on a cruise having to send at least three of my meals back and the selection was poor even our waiter made recommendation NOT to order something and agreed the buffet was better especially for deserts.

The entertainments I have to admit compensated for some of it with some very good guest acts and the house acts putting on some excellent shows.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class Stateroom with Veranda

Cabin C3

The cabin is fairly spacious with plenty of storage and nice bits like the charging station and pull out desk in front of the mirror. The lighting takes a bit to master when you have found the switch to the mirror lighting you have cracked it!.

The main bug bare was the "Balcony" which in my opinion is not a balcony but a sea view (partially obstructed for my cabin) with a window the sometimes opens! it squeaks when opens and on many occasion needed a bit or persuasion and physical assistance to come down.

As we were on deck 12 we did get the odd noise early morning 4-5am when sun beds were being moved but usually slept through that and you do hear the toilets being flushed in the adjacent cabins.

The bed was comfortable and we had a choice of pillows which we made use of but ended up with about six different pillows in the cabin and each night it was guess which were the ones we slept on the night before.
