My wife and I have done seven cruises and six of them with NCL. This was such a mixed cruise. One one hand, Alaska was amazing and the ship was great. It was nice, clean and the layout was great. The observation deck was really comfortable and even the Garden Cafe seemed to be upgraded and comfortable. Glacier Bay (which is the primary reason for going) was well organized and the captain slowed the ship down to a crawl and spun the ship around so everyone can have time seeing the glaciers and get their photos at a comfortable pace. It created a very relaxing time in which we gathered in our families state room and spent the time together on the balcony. The reason for the 3 stars was because it felt disorganized and at times poor service and food. For example: Our checked wine took four requests and two trips to the service desk to get, laundry took three requests, Ice sometimes took multiple calls and food timing was way off (I was served beffore my wife several times). The food was probably the most disappointing aspect of the cruise. We are not foodies but I have always considered NCL as having above-average food and occasionally amazing food. This trip I had a couple good meals, many average meals and a couple poor meals (dry chicken, overcooked fish, tiny portions etc). Overall it was a good cruise because of the destination and the company we brought with us. However we may not do NCL, it seems like they lost many of the personal touches that we have had in past cruises.

Alaska was amazing, the cruise itself was mixed

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom
Cabin BX 9724
Cabin was big and nice -- best cabin we have had on NCL. However I think the stewards have more rooms to take care of so the service is not great.
