We have traveled with Holland America for many years...have been on the zuiderdam three years ago and was very happy. We picked the Canadian cruise from Boston to Quebec City because of going to New Foundland. Even though we got to the pier at one o'clock ,the embarkation took over two hours, because the Coast Guard had a inspection. We were in a veranda cabin, it was very nice, except the bathroom needs a renovation badly. Dining has declined since the last time we were onboard the Zuiderdam. The menus for dinner in the main dining room were difficult to find something to eat each night..It had quite a lot of spicy entries, steak that were fatty, grizzly and tough to chew, continually trying to up sell lobster, steaks, and wine. The portions have been reduced in all dining venues. Lido for breakfast and lunch were very good. Lido dinner which is like dining room, is fair. The piano players in the Billboard and BB King, were fantastic ...can’t say the same for The main stage... Because of the hurricane, Dorian, we missed two ports in New Foundland.. the captain did a wonderful job avoiding the storm, except for telling all that the waves could be 40 feet. We were on two shore excursions, one in St Johns where we stood for almost an hour waiting for the previous tour to return. The other Peggy Cove, which was very pretty area but enjoyed the stop at cemetery whereSome people from the Titanic were buried. We were on the Kongingsdam in January 2019 and it was wonderful. Don’t think we will be back on Zuiderdam any time soon..

Disappointing
