After all the good reports we'd heard about Celebrity I thought we were in for something special but unfortunately this wasn't the case. The service in the Main dining room was either quick quick or non existent and when we did get the soup it was cold and the rest of the meals were very bland and reminded me of school dinners. The presentation of the food was also reminiscent of school dinners. The wine waiter (when you could get him to come to the table) had no finesse whatsoever when pouring the wine, slopping it out like it was lemonade. On 2 occasions they had run out of the wine we wanted to order. On the 3rd night we gave up and booked the speciality restaurant Qsine in hope of something better - and thank god it was - really enjoyed it. The cabins were lovely and well designed and the bathrooms were spacious too with lots of storage. The free toiletries were of a poor quality and ended up having to buy shampoo at the shop and there was no shower gel to use. On Holland America we had ample supplies of Elemis products. The entertainment was good, with acrobats, ventriloquist, fabulous quartet of male singers who sang songs from Jersey Boys and also a female string quartet who were very good. We made the most of the cruise and met some lovely people and the weather was glorious. Would I cruise Celebrity again?? Probably not, had far better food and service on other cheaper lines. Maybe we were just unlucky!!
